A yet-to-be-identified body has been recovered at Alogboshie in Accra following the heavy rains and flooding that affected several parts of the city.
The body was found on Wednesday, July 1, after floodwaters began to recede in sections of the community.
The exact circumstances surrounding the death are not yet known. However, the discovery follows Monday’s heavy downpour, which caused widespread flooding across Accra, submerging roads, flooding homes, and leaving commuters stranded for hours. The body was still at the scene pending the arrival of police officers with a body bag for transportation to the morgue.
The incident adds to the 12 deaths already confirmed by the Ghana National Fire Service as a result of the floods.
