The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that three clubs will make their debut in the top tier next season, replacing the teams relegated from the ongoing 2025/26 campaign.
Port City FC became the first side to secure promotion after cruising to the Zone Three Division One League title with four games left to play.
In Zone Two, FC AshantiGold ’04 matched that achievement by sealing qualification for the Premier League with three matches remaining. Their promotion was confirmed following an emphatic 4–1 win against rivals Skyy FC.
The final promotion place was decided in dramatic style at the Accra Sports Stadium, where Debibi United FC came from behind to defeat Tamale City 3–1 in the Zone One playoff final.
After conceding first, Debibi United mounted a remarkable comeback inspired by striker Kwadwo Antwi, who netted a stunning second-half hat-trick to secure a memorable victory and spark jubilant scenes among the club’s supporters.
With the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season set to conclude in late May 2026, all three promoted clubs are now expected to shift focus toward preparations for life in the top flight.
Club officials have already revealed plans to strengthen their squads significantly and upgrade stadium facilities in order to satisfy the GFA’s licensing requirements ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season in September 2026.
