The Ministry of Health has stated that, although Ebola outbreaks have recently been reported in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana has not recorded any suspected or confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease.
In a press statement, the Ministry indicated that updates from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Africa CDC show that recent confirmed and suspected Ebola cases have been reported in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The ministry added that it has already put precautionary measures in place across the country, working with international health partners to enhance Ghana’s preparedness and response capacity.
It further noted that surveillance and screening have been strengthened at airports, seaports, and land borders, with travellers arriving from the affected countries being closely monitored.
