Antoine Semenyo proved to be the match-winner, netting the only goal in a hard-fought 1-0 triumph that secured Manchester City their first major trophy of the 2025/26 campaign. The moment added another highlight to an outstanding season for the Ghana national football team attacker.

The FA Cup Final delivered an intense contest as two of England’s top sides went head-to-head from the start. City controlled much of the ball throughout the match, while Chelsea F.C. looked dangerous on quick breaks, producing an entertaining battle for the fans at Wembley Stadium.

Both teams created promising chances, but neither could find the breakthrough before the interval. Manchester City continued to press forward with intensity, while Chelsea F.C. defended resolutely to keep the score level at halftime.

The deadlock was eventually broken in the 72nd minute thanks to a moment of quality from Antoine Semenyo. The 25-year-old striker reacted sharply to a well-worked pass inside the penalty area before calmly slotting the ball past the Chelsea goalkeeper, sparking jubilant celebrations among the City faithful.

That strike ultimately sealed victory for Pep Guardiola’s side as they lifted the prestigious FA Cup trophy. Semenyo’s match-winning performance further underlined his growing influence following his headline-making transfer from AFC Bournemouth during the January transfer window.

Since joining Manchester City, Antoine Semenyo has settled in brilliantly at the Etihad Stadium. Winning the FA Cup adds to his growing list of achievements this season, having already played a key role in City’s EFL Cup success earlier in the campaign.

The former AFC Bournemouth forward has been in sensational form, recording 20 goals and six assists in all competitions across club football. His impressive displays have also seen him shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Season award, further cementing his status as one of the division’s standout performers.

With two Premier League fixtures still to play, Semenyo and City will now turn their attention to the title race as they chase down Arsenal F.C.. After already lifting two trophies, the Ghanaian forward will be aiming to help City complete a remarkable domestic treble before the season comes to an end.

For supporters in Ghana, Semenyo’s latest match-winning display is another source of pride, as one of the nation’s top football talents continues to excel on the global stage.
